Privacy Policy

Red Road Innovation Group Inc. ("RRIG"), 200-44 ByWard Market Square, [Ottawa, Ontario, K1N 7A2], operates Portage Music ("Portage"). For privacy questions or requests, contact our privacy officer at hello@portagemusic.ca.

What we collect

Your name, email address and role; a securely hashed password; the tracks, audio and rights information you give us; briefs; screening notes and scores; and payment records. PayPal processes your card or PayPal details, and we do not receive your full payment details.

Indigenous self-identification

If you choose to identify as an Indigenous artist, or name your Nation or community, we show that on that track to screeners and to the buyer if it is forwarded. It is optional, and you can leave it out of any new track.

Why we use it

To run your account, review and forward your submissions, take payment, send service emails, prevent abuse and meet legal duties. We do not sell personal information. We do not send marketing email without your consent.

Who sees it

Screeners see the tracks they review. Buyers see forwarded tracks for their own briefs, with the artist name but not the artist's email. RRIG administrators can see account and payment records. Our service providers handle hosting, email (Resend) and payments (PayPal), and may process data outside Canada.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you close your account we delete your audio and remove your name and email from your profile, keeping only the records needed for payments, placements and legal duties.

Your choices

You can ask to see or correct your information, withdraw consent, or close your account. You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial privacy regulator.

Security

We use encrypted connections, private audio access and hashed passwords. No system is perfectly secure. We will notify you and the regulator of a breach as the law requires.

Cookies

We use one cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
